Day 5 of Food Allergy Awareness Week
I’m Danielle Tubbs, founder of Tubby’s Taste! I come from a long line of Jamaican cake ladies so it’s safe to say that baking is in my blood. Growing up in Miami, I was surrounded by unique fruits, foods, and flavors. I started making desserts as a hobby to explore baking with the flavors of my family’s culture. It quickly turned into a passion then, a business – and Tubby’s Taste was born in 2014!
After years of testing recipes and bringing baked goods to parties, a good friend who is vegan said “I wish you’d make something that we both could enjoy.” Challenge accepted! I hit the kitchen and tested new recipes. To my surprise, I loved creating desserts that were delicious, passed my taste test, and were completely vegan friendly. And, I still do!
Now, all of our cookies are vegan, made with organic, nut- and soy-free ingredients, and each flavor tells a story inspired by my Jamaican-American roots! The experiences and traditions of my family continue to inform the bold flavors we celebrate in our cookies – I can’t wait for you to taste them!
