The Ask Dr. Renee Show with @FARE, @mommytalkshow and Emily Brown

This week is Food Allergy Awareness Week. Did you know food allergies affect 5.6 million children under age eighteen? That’s one in thirteen children or roughly two in every classroom. Did you know that asthma is the most common chronic condition among children, currently affecting an estimated 6.1 million children under eighteen? Even though I have anaphylactic reactions to my allergies (a serious allergic reaction that is rapid in onset and may cause death), I have lived, traveled, and thrived outside of the United States – I have eaten a lot of great food along the way. I decided to write my book, “Mommy I Can’t Breathe,” to help people thrive in this world the way I have with my multiple food allergies and severe asthma. Parents need to understand that their children can live a very fulfilling life despite these circumstances.
