The Ask Dr. Renee Show is celebrating May on BlackDoctor.org
In just under two and a half years Tunde rose to fame on Peloton’s platform as her dedicated fan base would clip into their bikes and listen to words of encouragement and “Tunde-isms,” while pushing themselves to their limits both on and off the bike. From addressing human rights and racial injustice, to advocating the importance of “Soul Care,” Tunde’s rides quickly became the most popular on Peloton. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Tunde helmed the “Speak Up Ride” in June 2020 to promote change and remind people of their power and freedom to find their voices and speak up. Over 20,000 riders tuned in live, the equivalent of filling Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Tunde is a Texas native of Nigerian descent and began her career as a professional makeup artist and brand educator for some of the most sought-after beauty brands in the world. Growing up she struggled with her own body image and self-esteem, noting it took many years and hard work to finally get to a healthy place physically and mentally. Fitness offered Tunde a greater form of self-love, and she eventually realized it was her true calling to motivate people to join her in becoming the best version of themselves. In 2015 Tunde took her first indoor cycling class. From the dimmed lights to the beats of the music, she escaped to another world and at that moment knew indoor cycling had forever changed her life. She walked away from a lucrative career in beauty that she had built for over 15 years, to become a cycling instructor in Los Angeles. She has been cycling ever since. On any given day Tunde trains up to 20,000 live riders through her unifying classes, with “Team Tunde” knowing they are signing up for an authentic, special session where they are motivated to achieve their wildest dreams.
